School Retreats:

3rock Youth, Authentic Youth and Youth Alive joined forces again to run 2 school retreats, one in Rush and one with Cabinteely community college.

We started off with a game of fruit basket, then stepped into our newly named ‘Life so Far’ in which Potential was talked about, the potential they have and could have. We then went into a time of discussion game which was followed by group discussion where each student had the opportunity to share their opinion and listen to others. I love the group work as we get to hear how they are and what they have to say about loads of different topics. Scott Evans talked about ‘Who we want to be’, where he asked the students challenging questions . Claire and Doug shared with the students about their lives, finishing school and their faith. After lunch Sarah-Jane spoke about choices in various areas of our lives, schools, and with our friends. We looked at the choices they face when dealing with who they are, who they want to become and what they can do to live a full life. We had a great time with both groups in days filled with laughing, discussions and games. It encourages me to see how open the students are. We even managed to mix in a few dance offs.
