Launch: Abbey Presbyterian, Dublin on May 16th at 8pm. This will be a night of photography, wordsmithery and music to introduce the book which is a collaboration of my words and Gordon Ashbridge’s photography all written and shot around the townships of Cape Town. We like to describe it as “two artists caught between the poverty the Old Testament prophets raged against and the poverty Jesus called blessed.”

24-7 Prayer in Ireland
For the past seven years we have seen prayer rooms, mission teams and communities grow and gather momentum in our nation. Due to this growth we feel the time is right to recognize all that God has been doing and also to bring some definition to the movement at a local level. We want to invite you to join us at the end of October to commission a new leadership team that will champion the cause of the 24-7 prayer movement here in Ireland. The plan will be to gather and share how the movement is continuing to gather pace globally and locally, to worship together and pray for our nation and to commission the new leadership team.
Building Unstoppable Momentum Prayer Room by Prayer Room
Right now we can see a growing momentum within the 24-7 Prayer movement in Ireland, the past year has seen 60+ prayer rooms that we know of and many others that are planned for 2008. We want to encourage God’s people to pray and are encouraging churches, organizations and communities to see the incoming year as an opportunity to commit to seasons of non-stop prayer.
We don’t have any big agenda, no flashy strategy, but a simple conviction that we all need to pray more, that this model seems to work and that the time is right to raise the bar.
This is your invitation to register a prayer room in 2008, simply go to www.24-7prayerireland.com and follow the links to join the growing network of prayer rooms in Ireland. You can register for a weekend, week, or even month! By registering you are joining with others in encouraging God’s people that the place of prayer is vital if we are to see the fullness of the Kingdom. Once you have registered one of our prayer room support team will be in touch to find out how best we can help you in your prayer room experience.
Our dream is to see more prayer rooms across all parts of the land and this is where we need your support. We are asking for you to consider running a prayer room in your organization in 2008. The concept is simple, get a date in the diary (a weekend, a week, a month!), find an accessible room that can be used day and night, sell the vision of what it means to have a season of non-stop prayer and get a sign-up sheet for people to take on hourly slots, then watch and see what unfolds as your prayer room is filled with ‘the prayers of the saints’. We have a number of resources on-line or in hard copy that will help you go about setting up and running your prayer room. We also have a national team of volunteers who have a wealth of experience with 24-7 who are available to coach you through running your prayer event. If you would like some help communicating the vision of 24-7 to leaders or members of your community can I recommend Red Moon Rising; Pete Greig’s story of our journey so far which has captured hearts and minds the world over.
