What’s Involved?
3Rock Youth leadership programme exists to train individuals into professional and effective youth ministry. The Leadership Programme combines teaching modules with experts in their field and practical application of youth work and leadership in real world situations.
3Rock Leadership Program is an excellent opportunity for exploring the gifts and abilities you have for youth leadership in a wide variety of settings.

Intern Involvement of the year
OCTOBER
Enniskerry Youth Festival
This is a weekend where we go into the village of Enniskerry and go around the primary schools and do assemblies and tell them about the family sports day on the Saturday. The Friday night we have a youth drop in centre. Saturday we have, community projects going on in the morning and then the Family sports day in the afternoon. Sunday invites us to a pilgrimage where we help with tea and coffee!
Anois
This weekend is being run in partnership with the Church of Ireland Youth Department. It’s been held in Kilkenny for the last 2 years and 3Rock youth are usually in charge of the main venue. You will see what goes into organising an event like this and it’s a lot of fun and hard work! it’s a great way to meet other youthworkers too! Anois
DECEMBER
Essential
Mixing lighting rigs, the traditional organ of Christ Church Cathedral, a DJ, Rock bands and 400+ young people in the sanctuary, Essential is one of our most popular events in our calender. Essential
MARCH/APRIL
Collide
This is our biggest school retreat! We invite all the the TY students the CofI Secondary Schools and have a day with them. We attempt to discuss with them faith and of course have fun with it too! We are constantly finding ways to see what works, it’s a crazy day and a lot of fun! Collide
MAY
International Outreach
We do hope to go on international missions with the team is an amazing way to see youth leaders grow and devlop, there will be chances to do missions trip abroad. The team has already had the oppurtionity to work in Brazil and Spain training local leaders. We have also travelled to Lesotho, South Africa, twice to work with orphanages. this does depend year to year so bear with us as we try and arrange stuff!
Family Sports Day
We have over the last year done a couple of family sports day. the last one we did was in East Glendalough and was a great success.
JULY
Urban Soul
Urban Soul is an active citizenship programme for youth (15 years+ only), taking place in Dublin each July. Interns will have the opportunity to gain behind the scenes experience and learn what exactly goes into making a huge interdenominational, cross boarder project like Urban Soul work. US Website
D & G Camps
The D & G Camps are the camps run by the Dublin Glendalough diocese with 3Rock. They run for 2 weeks during the summer and is a great time to present faith in a fun way with games, sports, activities and worship meetings. Camps
OVER THE YEAR
There are things that we will be doing during the course of the year.
Substance Schools Team
You will officially be on the school team. this is where you get challenged and it’s a great time, sometimes tough but overall a great experience! We have a privilege of talking and listen to students about various topics on faith and life! You will be finding out how you communicate in your style and tell them about your journey of faith! Church Review
At present, 3Rock Youth writes a monthly page for the Church Review and also contributes regularly to other publications. This year 3Rock Youth will endeavor to produce a youth supplement magazine quarterly to accompany the Church Review. You will see yourself spread across the 3Rock page in either photos or articles which you have written!
Training Days
We will be doing training days during the year that you be attending and they will be of benefit to you and a great time to network!
Confirmation Days
These are a new thing that 3Rock Youth are involved in. The confirmation course is an important part of the church life and we assist the parish or group of parishes with their candidates by having a day away!
Parish Placement
We hope to place interns into a parish and work with the Youthworker there for a period of time. This will give you a good idea of day to day organising entails in youthwork.
