Eoghan Heaslip – Grace In The Wilderness

One of my favourite albums to listen to when I want to get into the presence of God and make sense of my Life. I play this a lot in my personal quiet time, and I have also played tracks in both my christian youth group and in my schools work.
The album opens with the huge sound of ‘Let your name be glorified’. Eoghan begins the album by giving God the glory due to him, it always reminds me of how great my God truely is. The hope in the title song ‘Grace in the wilderness’ really sums it up when it says ‘when all else changes you remain’. In this culture of constant change, fast food, fast cars and fast relationships, this song really reminds me that God is and always has been there for me. My favourite song on the album though is ‘Come and heal us’. I have used this song time and time again with young people and I’m always amazed at the effect one song can have on different groups. The song asks God for mercy when we have fail and are disobedient. Eoghan cries out for God to hear our cry for help and I believe he is putting a voice to what Irelands teenagers are crying out for, forgiveness and help. An amazing album and definately one that should be part of your churches and youth groups collection.
